WORDS ABOUT WORDS
There's probably no such thing as entirely neutral language: I'm afraid bias-free language is rarer than we like to believe. Not because we can't reach it, but because we don't want it enough, and because most of our favorite prejudices are hidden from us. We think they're the truth. Offensive language is more than bias; it's bias having a good time.
