pygmalionism noun. Being in love with one's own creation.

Example Citation:
"In a modern take on pygmalionism, many Webmasters 'fall in love' with their own sites and shun the rest of the Web and instead spend all of their online time tinkering with their creations."

Notes:
In Greek mythology, Pygmalion was a sculptor who was entirely devoted to his art and shunned the company of others in favor of his tools and statues. One of his creations, an ivory statue of a woman, was so extraordinarily beautiful that he immediately fell hopelessly in love with it. Fortunately, the goddess Aphrodite took pity on him and brought the statue to life.
